Dear Campers,
A warm welcome to Bethel Bible-Presbyterian Church Camp, 2025! Once again, we are back to CYC Philip Island Resort as the venue for our family camp. It is a 100-acre property situated in the heart of Philip Island where we can enjoy close proximity to the beautiful beaches and serenity of nature — God’s wonderful creation. It is equipped with recreational facilities and adventurous activities for both the young and old. We will be staying in Colonnades which has its own dining, function and meeting areas, with ample en-suite guest rooms, to cater to our comfort and privacy.
More important than the physical blessing of this amazing resort is the exciting part of the camp, which is the theme centred on “Serving God as a Family”. It is based on Joshua 24:15, especially the words, choose you this day whom ye will serve. It was God who had delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt, sustained them throughout their wandering years in the wilderness, and brought them into the Promised Land. Thus, Joshua put forth the choice to them whether they would serve Him or the other gods. As their leader, he had to set the example for them to follow, therefore he emphatically said, as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. The same can be said about us who are saved by the precious blood of Christ, sustained by His love, grace and mercy as we live our days in this world, and ultimately, we will be ushered to the Promised Land in heaven.
This year, we are privileged to have Rev Dr Jose Lagapa, from True Life Bible- Presbyterian Church (Singapore), as our camp speaker. We are all eager and excited to learn from the spiritual lessons as God’s beloved servant faithfully expounds His Word to teach us how we can serve God not only as physical biological families but as a spiritual family — the church. We are also thankful for Mrs Jose Lagapa who is able to join us for this event, and his daughters, Thessa and Theya, who have willingly availed themselves to minister to our children.
It is my earnest prayer that God will use this camp to teach and strengthen us spiritually through the messages, and to savour sweet fellowship with one another. Please greet one another in the Lord, and encourage one another with words and deeds of love. A special word of thanks to the camp committee and to all who have assisted in organizing this event! May the Lord’s name be praised!
