the world treats foreigners any way they want, but we have a responsibility not to do that but also to welcome them.

the best thing we can do is share the gospel with them. (something like that)

imagine the impact and potential of the gospel.

most importantly we must share the gospel and pray that they would beleive so that when they return to their countries, per adventure they would reach out to their unbelieving friends, relatives and so forth.

God has brought the unbelieving world to our doorstep. the question is: what are we going to do about it?

you have built a bridge to me through friendship, then through evangelism, Jesus came walked on the bridge. what a testimony.

we pray that we would not just read this passage and think not to oppress them. no you and i must reach out to them with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Jesus didn’t just command us to take care of widows, he set an example for us.

God commanded grains to be left in the fields for widows and orphans.

God uses His people to bless the widows and orphans.

in the eyes of the world, widows and orphans are defenceless. but surely God would defend them…

pastor reads verse 23-24 and it’s pretty serious and self explanatory…

the consequence of afflicting the widows and orphans was deadly. they would be killed.

“if you would attack the defenceless, you do not deserve to live”

it doesn’t matter who you are…

all of them who profess faith in Him are His children and God has a special love, especially for those who are down and out.

take a moment to consider this:

as parents we love our children right? we give attention to those children who need it the most, who are weak and sickly. how much more our heavenly father?

james 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

if you claim you religion is pure, as how God perceives it, then you will do this: you will visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction. because you are obeying the very commandments of your God.

when you do it, you do it unto God.

matt 25. you watched out for me. you care and helped me.

in the early church, they had nothin. no one to support them. it was obvious they were in desperate need.

three lessons we can learn:

a word of encouragement to those who have been serving the elderly.

when u visit them, u are doing it unto the Lord.

you are doing it to those considered the least of the brethren.

there’s nothing you can expect from them in return. absolutely nothing.

God knows what you have done, and He who is the father of all his children, the fatherless the widows and orphans, he will reward you in due time.
