To bear means to “lift up”… we take up names…
Vain means empty, no substance.
There will be consequences. Legal consequences. And you will be sued.
God will hold us accountable. He will deal with us accordingly. There will be serious consequences. We must be very careful how we take up the name of God.
God reveals his name to his people.
Reveals not only who GOd is but what he does. He is the God who…
It is equal to taking God’s name in vain because it detracts from the glory of God.
We have the responsibility to defend his name.
Are you a minister? Your communication skills…
- this was the analogy of the minister siting in front of two men who were talking on the plane, one of which was blaspheming.
It takes understanding not to take God’s name in vain.
- BUT it takes a deep love for God to defend his name., those believers who love him and reverence him highly.
What about His titles?
- you and I have no right to..
- We are profaning God’s title. We are putting ourselves on the same level as God. God forbids.

We must not profane the ordinances and works of CHrist. To profane the ordinances and works of CHfrist is to take the name of God in vain.
How do we profane the word? The bible teaches us about God…
When you and I…
To undermine the word of God is also to profane it
The more i heard the bible is perfect, the more my heart is warmed, the more i love the word of God.
Why? Because It is a direct attack on his titles, … works,
That is why the first thing the disciples were taught to pray was “hallowed be thy name…”
Are we just paying lip services?
One of the most common things we do, is when we call ourselves Christians but we do not live as Christians. We bear the name of CHrist but in reality our lives do not reflect the life of a believer.
Whatsoever ye do, in word or deed, do it in the name of Jesus, giving thanks …
