1 Corinthians 13:7c

“…Surely there were times when we felt like giving up. What was the thing that kept us persevering?…”
Love hopeth all things (1 Corinthians 13:7c). Have you ever felt like giving up? Surely there were times when we felt like giving up. What was the thing that kept us persevering? Hope!
Despite Israel’s failure, there was still hope. Despite Peter’s denial, there was still hope. Despite the Corinthians’ disobedience, there was still hope. Likewise despite our shortcomings, there is still hope. There are so many promises in the Bible that make our love hopeful. As long as we are still alive, there is always God’s grace available for us. Thus, there is hope!
Dear children, but our greatest hope is the resurrection. A true story was told of a dog owner who had passed away. After the funeral service at the burial place, everyone left. But the dog remained there waiting. For days, months and years, that dog would not leave the grave site because that was the place it last saw the master being buried. It was waiting for the master to return. It would not give up the hope that someday he would return again. If a dog’s love for its master could produce that kind of hope, how much more should our love for our Master? Three times in the last chapter of Revelation, our Lord Jesus Christ said, “Behold, I come quickly!” Do you believe He will come again for you? That is, hope!
