1 Corinthians 13:5b

“ … A loving person does not seek his or her own interest…”
Seeketh not her own (1 Corinthians 13:5b)
Love seeketh not her own means it is not selfish. A loving person does not seek his or her own interest.
The unbeliever puts himself first, others second and God last (or He is not even on the list). But the Bible commands the believer to put God first, others second and he last. As Philippians 2:3-4 said, Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
Dear children, what does that mean to you? It means in all your desires, devotion, decisions, aspirations, goals, ambitions, and things you do, say or think, must always first be focused on the glory of God (what have your actions got to do with God’s glory), followed by the good of others (how can your actions be helpful to others), and not just only about yourself. Do not forget Jesus’ command that you must love the Lord with all your heart, soul and strength, and love your neighbour as thyself!
