James 5:13
Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms (James 5:13)
There will always be trials and sufferings in our lives which will trouble us physically, spiritually and emotionally. What do we do when we are afflicted? We must pray! We pray because we know that God is the source of our comfort as He is the One who is able to deliver us and strengthen us.
What about times of rejoicing when we are happy, victorious and cheerful? We must still pray! In such moments, we may articulate our prayers by singing praises to God. The Bible says, Is any merry? let him sing psalms. We sing because we know that God is the One who has blessed us with such times of rejoicing.
Dear children, both prayers and praises are so important to us because we draw spiritual strength from them as we go through good and bad times in life.
In Christ,
